Easy At Home D-I-Y Beauty Treatments

You might not be able to make it out to the spa or the salon for the full pampering that you truly deserve, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t look and feel glowy as hell in your own home.

We’ve put together some super easy homemade beauty treatments that you can recreate using ingredients that are lying around your house, they work just as well and cost a fraction of the price of the stuff we'd buy on the shelf. 

So whether you're trying to live a little more sustainably, or you're down for a D-I-Y home spa day, these are the perfect beauty treatments to get you started.

                                            

                                        

Exfoliating Coffee Face Scrub 

Easy and gently removes any dead skin, leaving you feeling silky smooth. Add this too your weekly routine or try it out on your next self care pamper day. 

Ingredients:

2 tablespoons of ground coffee
 1 tablespoon of brown sugar 
1 teaspoon of olive oil or coconut oil

 

Method:

Combine all of the ingredients in a glass bowl and mix well until you have a thick paste, you can add more coffee or oil depending on the desired consistency. Once made, Scrub on your body and face in the shower and rinse thoroughly off before getting out. You can store the mixture for up to 1 month in an airtight container, meaning that nothing goes to waste.

Sugar Lip Scrub

Perfect for prepping your lips before applying lipstick, or just removing any dry skin for that fresh plump finish.

Ingredients:
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon of runny honey

 

                                        
Method:
Mix the honey and sugar in a small bowl and mix. Once this has turned into a grainy paste, apply it to clean lips. Gently the scrub for a minute or so, be sure not to press on too hard. Avocado Face Mask 

This super simple do it yourself refreshing face mask is is guaranteed to leave your face feeling glowy and bright, you'll never want to use a shop bought one again. 

Ingredients

1 tablespoon of pure Honey
1/2 lemon, squeezed/juiced 

1/2 Ripe Avocado

 

Method

Mash up the avocado in a bowl with the back of a fork and mix in the honey and lemon. Follow your normal day or night routine, making sure that any excess make-up, oils and dirt has been removed. Apply the mask evenly to your face with your hands, or a brush if you prefer. Leave the mask to set for around 20 minutes and then rinse off with warm water.

Turmeric Texture Improving Face Mask

 You don't need to spend megabucks on facials or stock up on scrubs to achieve super-smooth and supple skin. This face mask will cost you next to nothing and improve the appearance of the texture and tone of your skin. 

Ingredients 

1 tablespoon of natural, plain yogurt 
1 tablespoon of honey
1 tablespoon if turmeric powder

                                        

Method

Mix all of the ingredients together until the mixture has turned a light pale yellow colour, ensuring that there are no lumps of turmeric power. Allow the mask to infuse before use, then apply evenly to the face, focusing on any areas of concern.  Almond Milk and Coconut Oil Hair Mask

This hair mask is the perfect treat for your locks at the end of a long week. Almonds are a great source of protein – an essential element of hair structure. Almonds also contain a lot of vitamin E which helps reduce inflammation and may promote hair growth.

Ingredients 

4 egg whites
5 tablespoons of almond milk 
2 tablespoons of coconut oil

                      

Method 

Whisk or blend ingredients till a nice smooth consistency, then work the mixture into clean, damp hair. Cover hair with a shower cap for 45 minutes. Carrot Hand Mask 

Carrots probably sound like a very unlikely ingredient for a hand mask, they actually contain loads of skin benefits we won’t want to miss! Carrots are packed full of vitamins, nutrients and carotene, which help keep skin looking young and nourish the skin. 

Ingredients

1 carrot 
1 tablespoon of sour cream 
1 teaspoon of olive oil

Method

Grind 1 carrot and add 1 tablespoon sour cream and 1 teaspoon olive oil. Mix the ingredients and apply to your hands for 20 minutes, then rinse off.
